Back at our desks again today we are thrilled to have had the opportunity to host 11 of the most amazing Australia’s luxury travel specialists for 8 days of delicious food and wine, breathtaking landscapes, luxury accommodation and authentically Australian adventures. Four very different itineraries showcased some of the luxurious diversity that Australia has to offer from North to South, the Outback to the coast. .. and gave us the opportunity to showcase Australia’s luxury travel specialists’ above and beyond approach to luxury travel. We are delighted to share our journey with you here.
Stuart Rigg, Director Southern Crossings Australia, led an action-packed itinerary showcasing World Heritage listed natural treasures, uniquely Australian wildlife and world-famous wines. They swam in the turquoise waters surrounding Lord Howe Island, sampled the wines of the Barossa and explored Kangaroo Island’s breathtaking wilderness. They basked in the relaxed sophistication of Capella Lodge, dined like kings during their stay at the Louise and soaked up stunning coastal views from the highly-awarded Southern Ocean Lodge.
Meanwhile, Southern Crossings Director, Patrick Bourke introduced his visitors to some of the country’s most iconic attractions including Uluru, the Great Barrier Reef and uniquely Australian wildlife. They dined under a canopy of outback stars, explored the Blue Mountains wilderness on horseback and snorkelled amongst brightly coloured corals. They saw the sun rise over Uluru from their luxury outback pavilion at Longitude 131, watched kangaroos from their private plunge pool at Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley and enjoyed spectacular vistas over the sparkling waters of the Whitsundays from qualia on Hamilton Island.
Luxury Lodges of Australia’s Libby Cooke and her visitors enjoyed an indulgent combination of Spa Country rejuvenation, Rainforest relaxation and Reef adventures. They snuggled up to a baby kangaroo at Healesville Sanctuary, cruised with crocodiles through the Daintree Rainforest and snorkelled with tropical fish on the Great Barrier Reef. They enjoyed a decadent degustation dinner at the Lake House, a soothing massage during their stay at Silky Oaks Lodge and true island luxury on Lizard Island.
Southern Crossings’ Senior Travel Designer, Tanya Knobel introduced our visitors to Australia’s spectacular wilderness from North to South. They enjoyed birdwatching on the edge of the Kakadu wilderness, breathtaking bushwalks through Australia’s Scenic Rim national parks and sampled oysters fresh from the sea on Tasmania’s Freycinet Peninsula. They marvelled at the grand scale of the Top End’s wild beauty on the air transfer to Bamurru Plains, took in spectacular mountain vistas from Spicers Peak Lodge and came face to face with Tassie Devils during their stay at Saffire Lodge.
After show casing a collection of Australia’s luxury travel specialists, the four itineraries came together at last in Sydney where we were joined by our partner, Vito Anzelmi from Virgin Australia and Australian Luxury Escapes provided an introduction to the city’s most famous icons, the Park Hyatt hosted deliciously decadent drinks and canapes overlooking the harbour, and Shadow Cruises delivered us in the ultimate style for a show-stopping performance of Opera Australia’s My Fair Lady at the Sydney Opera House. The Langham Sydney was a luxurious home away from home and provided the perfect place for a restful last night in Australia – ensuring sweet dreams of adventures had, and plans for a return someday very soon.
Southern Crossings, Australia’s Luxury Travel Specialists are looking forward to tailoring a personalised Australian itinerary just for you.
