Itineraries
From Northland to Southland and the West Coast to the East Cape
Beloved destinations of New Zealanders, the Bay of Islands and the Coromandel are where we flock when looking for local getaways full of sun, surf and sand.
The Northland region stretches all the way from Auckland to the tip of the country near Cape Reinga. The narrow interior of the region features lush green farmlands and the remnants of vast Kauri forests which once blanketed the north; whilst the Bay of Islands’ coastline presents some of New Zealand’s best golf courses and a glittering natural harbour studded with 144 islands and innumerable beaches – a spectacular luxury cruising ground! This stunning region is also home to Waitangi, where the nation of New Zealand came into being, and New Zealand’s most sacred site to Maori and Europeans to this day.
Another peninsula, The Coromandel is much smaller in size, and equally as beautiful. A single winding road circles the peninsula, dropping down into small towns filled with adorable ‘baches’ (modest holiday homes). The rugged interior was once home to goldmining towns, their abandoned remains have once again been reclaimed by the forests. But it’s the beaches that makes the region famous, some gold, some black, some white; some that attract Hollywood filmmakers; one that even has hot springs; but all equally as incredible.
