Situated on a 28,000 hectare heritage site and working cattle farm, approximately 160km inland from Cairns amidst the sandstone escarpment of Mount Mulligan (Ngarrabullgan), the vast outback sky and the eucalyptus woodlands stretching to the horizon, Mt Mulligan Lodge is accessed by a 35-minute scenic helicopter flight (over the Daintree Rainforest and Atherton Tablelands) or a three-hour 4WD from Cairns.
Mt Mulligan Lodge provides all-inclusive luxury accommodation in laid-back contemporary Australian style across 14 rooms. The Main Pavilion where the restaurant, guest lounge, sundeck and swimming pool are located is Mt Mulligan Lodge’s welcoming heart. Accommodation is provided in free-standing pavilions – each with an ‘outback room’ and an ‘outback suite’ which, together can be combined to create a two-bedroom, two-bathroom family suite – all with private deck, outdoor bath and an electric buggy to get around.


This Queensland outback luxury lodge also offers a glamping option with raised, solar-powered and well-appointed safari-style Outback Tents.
Daily-changing menus, tailored to individual tastes, showcase a bounty of locally-sourced, caught and freshly-grown seasonal fare
Touring and activities at Mt Mulligan Lodge include ATV touring, hiking and barramundi fishing, kayaking and paddle boarding; as well as opportunities to tour mining ghost towns for a fascinating window into Mt Mulligan Lodge’s past or join a station tour to see the working cattle farm in action.
Guests are invited to learn about the activities of Mt Mulligan’s working cattle station, including the quarterly cattle mustering spectacle.

All meals and most beverages, use of water sports equipment and a daily outback experience are included with a stay at Mt Mulligan. Mt Mulligan Lodge is closed for the month of February. There is a 15kg luggage allowance on the scheduled helicopter transfers, Additional luggage may be accommodated on private charter flights, subject to aircraft luggage compartment and payload capacity. (30 mins from Cairns. Also available from other Tropical North Queensland locations). Visitors are advised to pack a soft bag for their helicopter journey and any excess luggage can be stored at the helicopter base. Mt Mulligan Lodge is available for exclusive use, making it an ideal outback setting for multi-generational family reunions, intimate destination weddings and other milestone celebrations.
