Enjoying captivating views across the Hauraki Gulf, Mawhiti Waiheke is only moments from the city, yet feels a million miles from the cares of the rest of the world.
Accessed by ferry (or a short and scenic heli-hop across the harbour), Waiheke Island is home to sandy beaches and rolling vineyards, waterfront wineries and walking trails; the combination of which has long attracted locals to build and buy idyllic weekend ‘baches’. Mawhiti Waiheke offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy a slice of this enviable local lifestyle.
A private waterfront retreat, Mawhiti Waiheke is a luxurious residence accommodating up to eight guests in four en-suite bedrooms. The two accommodation pavilions are connected an open plan Living Pavilion with a well-appointed chef’s kitchen, dining area and cosy lounge with open fireplace, all enjoying sweeping coastal views.
The adjacent spacious entertaining deck is the perfect spot for long BBQ lunches and stunning sunset sessions, enjoying fine Waiheke wines.
Soaring cathedral ceilings and a soothing natural colour palette create a light and airy space that invites relaxation and showcases the stunning scenery that surrounds. A collection of thoughtfully chosen New Zealand artworks adorn the walls, the halls and the garden, but it is without doubt the Gateway Pavilion that steals the show. The “grand folly” architectural art piece provides a stunning welcome to Mawhiti, framing views to Rangitoto (and many instaworthy angles).
The chef’s kitchen with sweeping water views is sure to delight any keen cook, but we can also highly recommend kicking back on the deck to allow a private chef to take care of the catering.
