Sydney luxury boutique accommodation with true local flavour
Introducing Spicers Potts Point
Living locally, I have loved watching this new Sydney luxury boutique accommodation’s graceful transformation as I walk to work each morning – and was delighted to have been invited to the official opening of Spicers Potts Point; a new luxury boutique accommodation option in Sydney.
Housed in three fully renovated Victorian Terrace Houses dating back to the 1870s, Spicers Potts Point is, from the kerbside, almost indistinguishable from the houses that surround it .. and that is just how it should be.
Step inside this new Sydney luxury boutique accommodation and the property has achieved a seemingly effortless blend of classic Sydney heritage with contemporary style and comforts. Each of the 20 guest rooms offers supremely comfortable beds and generous en-suite bathrooms. Some rooms also offer a deep bath-tub, spacious lounge area or a sunny terrace from which to watch the world go by (my pick would be room number 9 for its pretty city skyline outlook).
The rooms and common areas are decorated in a calming neutral palette with elegant gold and marble accents and limited edition coastal artworks which pay homage to a quintessentially Australian lifestyle.
A friendly personal welcome, the tranquil garden courtyard, in-room coffee machines, complimentary snacks and WiFi all add to the home away from home feel.
A thoughtful collection of coffee table books and insider city guides provide plenty of inspiration for what to see and do, where to eat, drink and shop during your stay .. but don’t miss the complimentary evening cocktails and canapes in the hotel’s small bar downstairs for the chance to swap tips with fellow guests and gain local insights from the friendly Spicers team.
Whilst delicious gourmet breakfasts can be enjoyed in the light and airy dining room or in the garden courtyard, there is no restaurant at the property as such .. and really there is no need. Spicers Potts Point is surrounded by some of Sydney’s hippest eateries: try Kylie Kwong, Apollo, Fratelli Paradiso or Bistro Rex for dinner .. or pop into one of my personal favourite local bars, Jangling Jacks for a drink with the locals. Alternatively, Southern Crossings can also arrange for a privately guided progressive dinner tour of some of the area’s best bars and restaurants.
Spicers Potts Point – just 10 minutes from the heart of the CBD, a short walk to the Botanic Gardens, moments from the harbour and surrounded by fashionable bars, restaurants and cafes – adds a true local flavour for your next visit to Sydney.
