Blending mid-century furnishings with modern suites, the Ohtel Auckland is anything but ordinary!

The Ohtel Auckland is a wonderfully boutique hotel located just steps away from Auckland’s premier restaurant and bar precinct of Viaduct Harbour. The Ohtel Auckland’s rather ordinary facade hides an anything-but-ordinary hotel, complete with a cafe, sauna, and gym; plus one of the very few outdoor pools to be found in an Auckland hotel.

The Ohtel Auckland has a number of different rooms and suites throughout the building, all featuring an incredible collection of mid-century furniture (quite where they found it all is a mystery). Despite the 70’s colour palette of orange and brown, the rooms feel surprisingly modern, with clean straight lines and contemporary New Zealand art. Contrasting with the orange furnishings, the bathrooms are jet-black with bight lights, modern fittings and oversized bath tubs.

A fan of vinyl? Ohtel's rooms all come with a record player and records for guests to enjoy.

I found Southern Crossings through Town and Country Magazine and my hopes for a 5-star vacation became reality .. once we had our Zoom with Paul, we knew that we would be in good hands. .. Paul tailored EVERY SINGLE detail of what we were looking for in our trip to our needs. The itinerary was amazing, .. I expressed interest after hearing about a restaurant while in Sydney, and he helped push to get us off the extremely long waitlist. He made sure we had the BEST rooms at each hotel we stayed at .. they seriously are the best of the best.
