Enveloped by the World Heritage-listed Main Range National Park and the Great Dividing Range, in South East Queensland’s spectacular high country, its easy to forget that you are just a little over two hours from Brisbane. The Spicers Peak luxury lodge experience provides the perfect combination of seclusion from the outside world and connection to the natural beauty that surrounds.
Accommodation is in ten luxurious suites housed in the main lodge building and two Private Villas perched on the edge of an escarpment, that also offer a private outdoor spa from which to soak up the tranquillity of these natural surrounds that are shared with resident cockatoos, kangaroos, wallabies and koalas.
Spicers Peak Lodge’s paddock-to-plate menus showcase the very best local produce with exceptional dining experiences enjoyed in the lodge restaurant or in a collection of private dining locations.
Guests can enjoy scenic walking trails and outdoor yoga sessions, campfire canapes and guided stargazing as part of the experience. Guided hikes and mountain bikes, 4WD safaris and nocturnal wildlife walks, gourmet picnics and helicopter scenic flights can also be arranged. There’s also an outdoor pool and tennis court; and the mountain-top Spa Anise offers pampering treatments, a spa pool and cosy relaxation lounge.

So many memorable moments: Saffire Freycinet, start to finish, was perfection. The food in Tasmania knocked our socks off. I cannot recommend Southern Crossings more highly! Fiona worked closely with us to design an itinerary that was perfectly catered to our needs, price-point and preferences. Everything they booked felt extremely authentic and unique. The itinerary was well-balanced in terms of activity, travel and accommodation. They were available and communicative in the months leading up to the trip as well as in real time during the trip. If anything went wrong I took comfort in knowing they were only a phone call away but luckily everything went extremely smoothly. We just returned from our fabulous, fascinating trip to Australia. We loved the excellent accommodations that Southern Crossings arranged for us. Besides the convenience of the locations, we had opportunities of fabulous meals on site. We do want to revisit some at a future date. The Kangaroo Island Ocean View Eco Villas were amazing. Three Star Michelin breakfast, cocktails, and suppers included every day! Chef Tamsin has to be experienced to be believed.
